Pre-Installation Checklist

Before installing the V-belt, make sure to:

✔️ Turn off and lock out all power to the machine
✔️ Inspect pulleys/sheaves for wear, cracks, rust, or buildup
✔️ Verify that pulley grooves match the belt section (A/B/C)
✔️ Ensure shafts are parallel and pulleys are aligned
✔️ Clean pulleys with a dry cloth—avoid oil, grease, or solvents
✔️ Check for proper tensioning tools or tension gauge

  • Belt tension gauge or spring scale

  • Straight edge or laser alignment tool

  • Socket wrench or spanner

  • Safety gloves and goggles


🔧 Step-by-Step Installation Procedure

1. Release Tension

Loosen the motor mount or adjustment bracket to reduce tension on the old belt. Remove any belt guards or safety covers.

2. Remove the Old Belt

Carefully slide the existing belt off the pulleys. Do not pry the belt with sharp tools as it may damage the pulley.

3. Inspect Components

Check both pulleys and bearings for:

  • Misalignment

  • Surface damage

  • Debris or corrosion
    Replace any worn parts before installing the new belt.

4. Install the New Dynamic MAXDRIVE® Belt

  • Loop the belt onto the smaller pulley first

  • Gently rotate the larger pulley by hand to feed the belt onto it

  • Never use screwdrivers or pry bars to force the belt

5. Set Proper Tension

  • Adjust the motor base or tensioning slide

  • Use a belt tension gauge to apply the manufacturer-recommended tension

  • For small setups: 10–15 mm belt deflection with moderate thumb pressure is a rule of thumb

6. Align the Pulleys

  • Use a straight edge or laser to ensure pulleys are in exact parallel and alignment

  • Misalignment can reduce belt life by up to 50%

7. Secure and Test

  • Tighten all mounting bolts and retest tension

  • Reinstall safety covers

  • Run the machine for 3–5 minutes and observe any slippage or vibration

  • 🔄 Recheck belt tension after 24 hours or the first 2–3 hours of operation

  • 🧼 Keep belt clean and dry—avoid oil or chemical exposure

  • 📅 Replace belts in sets if using multiple belts to ensure uniform wear

  • 🧭 Record installation date and check periodically for cracks or frays
